![]() The Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation to support the Leadership Westmoreland program. This annual nine-month leadership development program empowers professionals in the area to learn, grow, and lead through learning experiences. Since the program’s launch in 2015, 41 local professionals have graduated from the program with 23 more set to graduate in 2018. As a community bank that believes in making a difference, Standard Bank keeps money local by deriving its funds and lending to the communities in which it operates–ultimately helping to grow the local economy. To further support their dedication to community growth, the bank also provides financial assistance to local non-profits via the Standard Charitable Foundation (which has awarded nearly $500,000 in local grant funding since its inception in 2011). In February 2018, the Standard Charitable Foundation had also awarded a $3,500 grant to CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. to support their partnership with “Advocacy for Older Youth” initiative to allow recruiting and training for additional new classes of volunteers to serve older children who are currently on the waiting list and in need of a personal advocate. For many abused and neglected children, their CASA volunteer is the only reliable adult presence in their lives. Great work done by both initiatives!
