Smail Auto Group has been a proud member of the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce since 1973. Bud Smail Jr. served as a board member for many years in the late 80’s and early 90’s. With over 450 Smail employees, we are committed to supporting the community where we live and work. As an extension of our community involvement, we are excited to promote local businesses, organizations and events through our Smail Cars in the Community initiative. Each month we will select and visit a Chamber member to learn more about how they are impacting the Westmoreland Community. Our social media team will ask a series of questions and create a short video to post on our Smail Cars in the Community feature. In this episode of Cars in the Community, we visit Charley Family Shop n’ Save in Greensburg to talk with Ray Charley about his upcoming Ride Across America in support of veterans. Ray will be riding from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL to raise money for Feherty’s Troops First Foundation. Ray’s Ride is part of the coast-to-coast (Southern Tier) Save-22-a-Day Trans-America Bicycle Tour. The primary goal of the ride is to spread awareness of the high rate of suicide among U.S. military veterans. All funds raised from the ride are donated to various organizations and charities working to improve the lives of these veterans.
