The Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit 501(c)6 membership based organization focused on serving the business needs of roughly 1,000 members across Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. We strive to represent the area’s business and community interests through actively promoting a pro-business climate in our region. We are an active force in the community that seeks to promote Westmoreland County as the premier place to live, learn, work, shop, and play.
Below is a short list of ways the Westmoreland County Chamber can help your organization.
We Advocate For You
The Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce works on behalf of its member companies to advocate for a healthier, more competitive business climate. As the largest business association in Westmoreland County – and as one of the largest Chambers in all of SWPA – our voice resonates when speaking about the interests of small and large companies across a myriad of industries. Policy makers and elected officials from Westmoreland County, Harrisburg, and Washington D.C. look to the Westmoreland County Chamber for an unvarnished, non-partisan assessment of what is important to make your business and our community thrive.
Our office receives hundreds of phone calls, mail requests and website “hits” each year from local companies looking for vendors and from residents looking to connect with service providers. Only members of our organization are given as referrals to these potential customers. In short, we help drive business right to your front door.
Networking, Networking, Networking
Let’s face it, sometimes it all comes down to who you know. With an ever increasing number of local and global competitors, building strong business relationships is more important than ever before. The Westmoreland County Chamber works to provide a wide range of both structured and relaxed networking opportunities to help foster business relationships. Whether members prefer to network in the early morning, at mid-day or after hours, we offer events to meet your busy schedule.
Growth & Education
Chamber members have access to several resource tools aimed at counseling and educating small and mid-sized businesses. Through the Chamber’s relationship with area schools, the Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE®), and the Small Business Administration, we are able to help businesses develop and grow. In addition, we offer a variety of member workshops and “Small Business Roundtables” on subjects like finance, marketing, technology, customer service and more.
Successful business people know how to command a room and how to make their product or service known to others. By hosting over 125 events and programs each year, we give our members plenty of chances to meet prospective customers, entertain clients, reward employees, train staff, learn the latest techniques to make you more successful and provide a platform to get your company the exposure you need to grow. From golf outings to elected officials forums and everything in between, we have a signature event just for you.
Our website keeps members up-to-date with what’s happening in the Chamber and the community, and is a reliable resource for locating member information. The website includes contact information for each member and a direct link to each business’s website. The site also contains an online membership application, calendar of events, job board, community information, helpful links and more.
Published monthly and mailed to approximately 1,600 members, the eight-page, full color publication highlights what is happening in and around the Chamber. The newsletter includes a monthly calendar of events, pictures and event reviews, advertising space, and a Member News section for information submitted by members. Members are able to include a flier highlighting their business or a special sale, event or promotion.
Member Email Blasts
Members are able to include information in the Chamber's monthly "Sponsor Spotlight" email blasts sent out to more than 2,500 email addresses. Company information is included in the email as well as links to fliers, brochures, coupons, etc.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies
The Westmoreland County Chamber would be delighted to help introduce your new business and spread the good news throughout Westmoreland County. If you’re celebrating a grand opening, ground breaking, major facility remodel, or some other significant change to your location, let us spread the word with one of our trademark Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies. There is no cost for a Ribbon Cutting. However, the host must be a Westmoreland County Chamber member in good standing.
Advertising & Sponsorship Benefits
Members are presented with opportunities to advertise their business through the Chamber in a number of ways: the monthly newsletter, website, email blasts, membership directory, event program books, and at special events and fundraisers. Opportunities are available at various times throughout the year and are affordable for small and large businesses alike.
The Membership Directory contains the company name, contact person, address, phone and fax number, email and website address for each current Chamber member. The publication is printed annually and is distributed to all members at the beginning of each year. Members are welcome to advertise in the directory to highlight their business. The Membership Directory is also online 24/7 and is updated daily.
Member 2 Member Benefit Program
This program allows Chamber members the opportunity to offer special sales/discounts to other members. Discounts include such things as a percentage or dollar amount off a bill, buy one get one free offers, and special member pricing.
Chamber Board Room & Resource Library
Members are able to use the Chamber’s conference room for private conferences and meetings, as well as seminars and workshops open to other members and/or the public. The Chamber’s resource library is stocked with handouts, brochures, business cards, fliers, maps, phone books, tourist information and other information about the area.
