STAND OUT AS A LEADER IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY!

Are you one of Westmoreland County's future leaders? We are looking for you! Learn, grow and lead through a learning experience designed to enhance community awareness, networking and leadership skills.

Leadership Westmoreland is a 9-month tuition-based program that is custom-designed to foster the development and growth of our community leaders and enhance creative leadership skills for future Westmoreland County Leaders.

In monthly full-day sessions that include site visits and dialogue with key decision makers, participants will learn how the county operates, acquire insight into the decision making process and gain access to vital resources. Participants immerse themselves in community projects, working in teams to study challenging issues and develop real-world solutions. Through these relevant projects and through the development of working relationships with team members and others, participants enhance their leadership insights and learn how to affect real change.

The curriculum includes sessions on Building a Business Acumen; Cultivating a Learning Culture; Understanding Community Caregiving; Living an Accountable Life; Being an Informed Citizen; Navigating an Information-Rich Culture; and Embracing a Work/Life Balance.

Leadership Westmoreland seeks program participants representing all sectors of the community including business, health care, social service, government, labor, education, professional services, industry, and individuals. You need only live or work in Westmoreland County. The ideal class size will be 20 individuals. Applicants may be recommended by a graduate of Leadership Westmoreland or other community leaders, or may self-nominate. Full commitment - both financially and the time commitment - by the organization or business they represent is required. Applications will be reviewed and applicants selected by the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Westmoreland committee. Each applicant will be evaluated on the basis of the merits of their written application. Selection criteria includes commitment and participation; leadership; and experience, education, and skills.
If you are interested in being a part of the next class or have questions, please contact Grace Markum, Leadership Westmoreland Facilitator, via phone: 724-834-2900 ext. 205  or email: Leadership@westmorelandchamber.com
